Puppeteach is run by Dr Vijay Puri, a promoter of puppetry for education. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. Dr Puri has been associated with hand puppetry projects for stage and television since 1975, bringing over 50 years of experience to the field.

Workshops are a regular feature of Puppeteach. Dr Vijay Puri conducts separate workshops for educators and children to popularize the use of simple household items like plastic balls, paper cups, socks, newspapers, foam, rags, thermocol, and more for making usable hand puppets. These workshops have been conducted across Maharashtra, India, including collaborations with international partners.

The crux of puppetry lies in three key elements: theme of the play, manipulation of puppets, and dramatic voice over. Participants in workshops are encouraged to write their own scripts, design characters, make puppets, learn their manipulation, and then enact performances. This comprehensive process teaches them various forms of creativity and expression.

This website is designed for: puppetry groups worldwide who perform puppetry, educators who want to use puppetry for education, those who want social change in society and wish to use puppetry for that purpose, and theatre practitioners seeking to expand their artistic repertoire.
